Bank Unions met with IBA on 23.04.2025 and discussions were held on various topics such as 5 Day Banking, Revised PLI scheme and other issues.
What discussions were held about 5 Day Banking?
The bank unions discussed with IBA about the implementation of 5 Day Banking. The bank unions informed IBA that there are various reports that the government is not in favour on 5 Day Banking. If this is true then the unions will have to resort to strike again. IBA said that they are following up the matter with DFS.
But the main point is – till how long will the IBA discuss the issue of 5 day banking with government. It’s been over 1 year and still the discussions are going on. On 23 April 2025 also, no solid discussion was held regarding 5 Day Banking. Like all other meetings, this time also IBA tried to liaison with bank unions in order to defer strike.
