Bank of India Senior Manager sentenced 7 Year Jail in Fraud Case in Bhopal

The CBI Court in Bhopal has sentenced two accused – Piyush Chaturvedi, the then Senior Branch Manager, Bank of India, Misrod Branch, Bhopal and Mohan Singh Solanki (Private Person) to Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for Seven Years with a total Fine of Rs. 60,000 in a bank Fraud Case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered the case on 25.01.2016 based on a written complaint filed by the then Dy. Zonal Manager, Bank of India, Zonal Office, Bhopal. It was alleged that accused Piyush Chaturvedi, the then Senior Branch Manager, Bank of India, Misrod Branch, Bhopal, fraudulently and dishonestly sanctioned a term loan and Cash Credit limit of Rs. 30,00,000 in the name of M/s Sunny Enterprises on 21.11.2013.

On the same day Rs. 22,00,000 was fraudulently debited through an RTGS transaction from the account of M/s Sunny Enterprises based on a forged and fabricated RTGS form and voucher and transferred to the account of M/s Gold Fly Aish of accused Mohan Singh Solanki and the said money was misappropriated by both the accused in furtherance of criminal conspiracy.

This caused significant loss to the Bank. The CBI investigated the case and filed a chargesheet against the accused Piyush Chaturvedi and Mohan Singh Solanki. The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused persons accordingly.
