In Haryana’s Palwal district, thieves attempted to rob the Canara Bank’s Kithwadi branch by breaking through its roof and wall. The entire incident was recorded on the bank’s CCTV cameras, showing two masked men entering through the roof. Once inside, they searched for cash by breaking the ceiling and rummaging through drawers. However, when they touched the bank’s vault, the siren went off, and the thieves fled without taking anything.
Incident Found in the Morning
The bank staff discovered the attempted robbery on Wednesday morning when they opened the branch. Chandhat police station in-charge Sundarpal said the roof, walls, and ceiling were damaged, drawers were open, and documents were scattered around the bank. The siren is believed to have scared the thieves, forcing them to leave before stealing anything.
Police Investigation
The bank manager filed a written complaint at Chandhat police station. The police and cyber experts started investigating, analyzing CCTV footage and collecting evidence from the scene. According to the investigation, no cash or valuables were stolen during the incident. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to find the thieves.
