In a late-night incident on Monday, unknown thieves attempted to break into Baroda UP Bank in Sarasul, located in the Maharajpur police station area of Kanpur, by cutting through the iron grill of a window. The intruders tried to break open the cashier’s cash counter but were unsuccessful. The incident came to light when bank staff opened the premises on Tuesday morning.

The acting manager of the bank reported that the thieves entered the building by cutting through the window grill. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that no money or valuables were stolen. The bank informed the police, who promptly arrived at the scene to begin their investigation.

Maharajpur police station in-charge, Inspector Sanjay Kumar Pandey, stated that the matter is under investigation. “The attempt to steal appears to have been unsuccessful. No damages or losses have been reported by the bank so far. Preliminary investigations suggest that the thieves entered by cutting the grill of the bank’s window. Both the police and forensic team are working to resolve the case, and we expect to disclose further details soon,” he said.
