The Uttar Pradesh unit of the All India Bank Officers’ Association held its seventh conference on Sunday at a hotel in Naka Hindola, Lucknow. The event began with floral tributes to the portraits of Comrades Parwana, Prabhat Kar, Tarkeshwar Chakraborty, PK Menon, and RJS.

Bank Employees Asked to Prepare for Future Agitation

The chief guest, Comrade DS Ganeshan, Deputy General Secretary of the All India Bank Officers’ Association, said that bank officers and employees are facing serious challenges. He claimed that the government is planning to privatize IDBI Bank and is also preparing to merge 12 public sector banks into five banks. He urged bank employees and officers to stay united and be ready for a major protest if required.

Leaders Express Concern Over IDBI Bank Privatization

Comrade Vitthal Koteshwar Rao, National General Secretary of the IDBI Bank Officers’ Association, said that the government is trying to hand over IDBI Bank to the private sector. Several senior leaders also addressed the conference, including UPTUC President Comrade CK Singh, Udaynath Singh, SK Sangtani, Yadav Singh Thakur (Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank), RK Bansal (General Manager, Punjab & Sind Bank), and DK Arjwani (General Manager, Central Bank of India). The conference was chaired by Rajesh Tiwari and Vijay Mathur, while Dr. Rakesh Saxena, Executive General Secretary, conducted the proceedings.
