Bank of Baroda has introduced a unique savings account designed specifically for women Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), becoming the first public sector bank in India to offer such a service. The bob Global Women NRE & NRO Savings Account provides exclusive benefits, including concessional interest rates on home and auto loans, reduced processing fees, and a full waiver on locker rent.

In addition, account holders will receive a specially designed debit card with complimentary airport lounge access. The bank is also offering free personal and air accident insurance, making it the first public lender in India to provide such coverage for NRIs maintaining savings accounts.

Speaking on the launch, Beena Vaheed, Executive Director at Bank of Baroda, emphasized the bank’s commitment to meeting the evolving financial needs of NRIs. “The bob Global Women NRE & NRO Savings Account recognizes the changing aspirations of global Indian women and is designed to empower them with enhanced banking privileges,” she said.

Alongside this new account, Bank of Baroda has also upgraded its bob Premium NRE & NRO Savings Account, which now includes a debit card with higher transaction limits, free airport lounge access, free safe deposit locker, and concessional loan rates.

Founded in 1908, Bank of Baroda operates in 17 countries and serves approximately 165 million customers. This latest initiative highlights the growing efforts of Indian banks to attract a larger share of the global NRI market.
