Bank of Baroda Cashier Attacked in Bareilly Uttar Pradesh

Shishgarh, Bareilly: A shocking case of assault on a bank employee has come to light. Chhatrapal Singh, a cashier at the Bank of Baroda branch in Kasba, was attacked by three unidentified men on Monday evening. The incident took place near Gandhi Medical at Bareilly and was captured on CCTV cameras. The victim has lodged a complaint with the police.

According to police, Chhatrapal Singh was travelling on his bike from the bank to a place for official work when the attackers followed him. As soon as he reached Bareilly Adda, the three bike-borne men surrounded him and began beating him. Before locals could intervene, the accused fled the scene.

Police acted on the basis of the bike number used in the attack and detained one suspect. Another person managed to escape. CCTV footage checked by the police revealed that the attack was pre-planned. The footage showed the accused earlier in the day at Bareilly Adda, arriving in a car and carrying weapons.

On the cashier’s complaint, Shishgarh police registered a case under seven different sections of the IPC. A total of five unidentified persons and one named accused, Vijay Singh of Paharpur village under Shergarh police station, were booked. Vijay Singh was arrested and produced in court on Tuesday afternoon. The court sent him to jail.

Station in-charge Ravindra Kumar said that strict action will be taken against all the attackers. He confirmed that a case has been filed, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
