Bank of America Employee Shot At Outside Home in Laxman Vihar
A 42-year-old Bank of America employee was shot at by an unidentified man outside his home in Laxman Vihar on Wednesday evening. The bullet missed him, but gunpowder from the shot burned one of his eyes, police said.
The Bank Employee – Rajat Rastogi had just returned from work. He stepped out of his car outside his house on Street Number 4 around 6 pm. At that time, the attacker, who appeared to be waiting for him, came from behind and fired at him.

The bullet hit a nearby wall. The shooter then dropped the country-made pistol at the spot and ran away.
Residents heard Rastogi’s screams and informed the police control room. Teams from Sector 9-A police station, Sector 4 police post, and the crime branch reached the spot.
Rastogi was taken to Kalyani Hospital in Sector 14. He was later shifted to the civil hospital, where he is under treatment.
CCTV footage from near the area shows a strong-built man wearing a white printed T-shirt. Police believe he is the suspect. The pistol has also been recovered.
However, investigators believe the attack was pre-planned. “It does not appear to be a robbery case. Prima facie, the shooter had a personal grudge. The motive and source of the weapon will be clear after arrest,” a senior officer said.
Police are questioning family members and neighbours. A case under the Arms Act is likely to be registered. Sub-inspector Narvir, in-charge of Sector 4 police post, confirmed that only one shot was fired and it hit the wall.
