Bank issues Explanation on Man bringing Dead Sister’s skeleton to Bank to withdraw Cash
The Odisha Grameen Bank has issued an explanation over the shocking incident of a man bringing the skeleton of her dead sister to the bank to withdraw cash from her account. The Bank has told the reality – what actually happened in the bank.
The 50-year-old man brought the skeleton to withdraw the money deposited in his sister’s name at the bank. The incident took place at the Maliposi branch of Odisha Grameen Bank located at Patana block of Keonjhar district. The man, identified as Jeetu Munda, told police officials that he did this after the bank managers told him to bring the account holder with him.

What actually happened?
As per the preliminary information, at 11 a.m dated 27-04-2026, a person named Jitu Munda came to Malliposi Branch with drunken stage and demanded to withdraw money from his sister’s account named Kalara Munda.
When the branch manager told that he was not entitled to withdraw the money as the account belongs to a different person. Afterwards, Jitu Munda started shouting. Branch Manager tried to make him understand that the person, who owns the account, should come to the Bank for withdrawal and he cannot withdraw the money from her account.
When, the BM enquired about his sister he told that she is in coma and could not come to bank. The BM explained him that in such a stage the money cannot be withdrawn without the consent of the account holder. In case of any mishappening occurred then after production of death proof/ death certificate the account will be settled as per banks guidelines.
Then suddenly the person named Jitu Munda left the bank with shouting that I will take money definitely. Then after some time he came to bank with a rotten dead body in a bag which was buried few days ago and put it in front of the bank and claimed that she is my sister and demanded money from her account. By seeing this the branch manager informed patna police station.
Then after the intervention of police personals he took the dead body from the branch front and buried it in its place as per the police report. The death claim will be settled in priority once the death certificate will be produced.
