Bank Chief Manager manhandled by BJP leader in Ludhiana
As per reports, a chief manager working in Punjab & Sind Bank in Ludhiana, was manhandled by a BJP Leader.
Arun Kumar, Chief Manager of Punjab and Sindh Bank branch in Model Town, Ludhiana, stated that 7 to 8 people including BJP leader Kapil Katyal, Ajepal Dishawar, and Makkar Steel Private Limited director Sudhanshu Jindal forcibly entered the bank and pressured him to stop the ongoing auction.

In 2019, M/s Makkar Steel Pvt. Ltd. had taken a loan of approximately ₹2 crore from the bank. The loan turned NPA as the amount was not repaid despite several notices. The bank filed a case in court. On the orders of the District Magistrate, the company’s land in Kohada was seized and declared up for auction, with advertisements published in newspapers.
On December 30, 2025, at around 10:40 a.m. on the day of the auction, Arun Kumar was in his office when Kapil Katyal, Ajepal Dishavar, Sudhanshu Jindal, and others accompanying them entered the bank.
They demanded that the auction be stopped. According to Arun Kumar, when he refused, Kapil Katyal and Ajepal verbally abused, threatened, and physically assaulted him.
It is alleged that Kapil Katyal threatened, saying, “I’m a big leader, I’ll get you suspended.” When the situation escalated, bank security guard Beant Singh tried to stop them, but the protesters threatened him as well.
Upon receiving the complaint, police registered the case under sections 221, 132, and 351 of the IPC. The Model Town police station has also prepared special reports and sent them to the regional magistrate and senior officers. Further investigation is ongoing.
