ATM Robbery in Canara Bank in Punjab, Robber Sprayed Chemical and Fled with Cash

Rajpura, Patiala, Punjab: An ATM robbery has been reported at the Canara Bank in Caliber Market, Rajpura, on Tuesday morning. Unidentified robbers broke into the bank’s ATM and fled with approximately ₹5 lakh cash.

Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene. Police surrounded the bank premises and began a thorough search. Bank manager Priyanka stated that all information has been provided to the police. Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations and are investigating the case.

According to CCTV footage, the incident took place at 4:55 am on Tuesday morning. The miscreant first sprayed a chemical on the ATM screen and the CCTV camera. It is suspected that a gas cutter was used to carry out the crime. Police are currently investigating the matter.

A few days ago, seven unidentified miscreants stole an entire State Bank of India (SBI) ATM from near Seva Dham in the Nandan Pahar area of Deoghar, Jharkhand. They tied the ATM to a car and dragged it. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Deoghar Town Police Station and has raised concerns over the security of ATMs in the city.
