On Sunday morning, a shocking incident took place at the ATM of Axis Bank located on Birhana Road in Kanpur. When people arrived at the ATM to withdraw cash, they were met with a disheartening sight. The cash tray had been removed from the ATM after it was cut open. This incident was immediately reported to the Fieldkhana police station, leading to the arrival of the police and forensic team at the crime scene.
The management team from Axis Bank also arrived at the scene. They expressed concern that the cash stored in the ATM had been stolen by cunning thieves. The exact amount of money taken by the gang that cut the ATM is yet to be determined. The police investigation will reveal the extent of the theft.
DCP East, Shravan Kumar Singh, confirmed that a case of ATM cutting had been reported on Birhana Road. The bank management was unable to provide information about the amount of money stolen during the incident. As soon as a formal complaint is received, an FIR will be registered. Currently, two police teams have been assigned to investigate the ATM cutting gang, utilizing the available CCTV footage.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are determined to apprehend the culprits responsible for this ATM robbery.
