A protest by farmers against Punjab National Bank (PNB) in the Etmad-ud-Daula area of Agra has ended after assurance from Bank management.
The matter began when a farmer from Nagla Neem, Ward No. 67, under the Khandoli police station area, alleged that the bank had failed to disburse the required funds. Following the complaint, several farmer leaders and social activists gathered outside the PNB branch and staged a sit-in protest against the bank.

The primary cause of the demonstration was withholding of payments. Local farmers claimed that despite having sufficient balances in their bank accounts, the management was consistently stalling and refusing to let them withdraw their money.
Frustrated by the continuous delays and administrative stalling, the farmers sat on a dharna outside the branch, declaring they would not leave until their funds were cleared. The protesting farmers accused the bank management of procrastination and stated that they would continue their protest until they received their money.
As soon as news of the protest spread, a crowd gathered at the scene. The farmers demanded that the administration intervene and resolve their problems quickly. The protesting group has formally demanded that the Agra district administration intervene directly to investigate the branch’s payment holding patterns and ensure immediate clearance of their funds. The farmers vowed to maintain an indefinite sit-in until their bank accounts are fully functional and payments are processed.
