Robbery Attempt in Union Bank of India Branch in Tamil Nadu

Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu: A robbery attempt has been reported at the Union Bank of India branch at Cantonment in Tiruchi in the early hours of Saturday.
A masked man tried to break the locks on the bank’s grill gate using an iron rod. However, on hearing the sound of people nearby, the man fled the scene. The Cantonment police inspected the spot with the assistance of sniffer dogs. A case has been registered, and investigations are under way.
This is the second robbery attempt at Union Bank of India branches, reported this week. A few days ago, an attempted break-in was reported at the Union Bank of India branch in Chandandih, Raipur, after an unidentified person allegedly entered the bank during the night and damaged several items. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Amanaka police station.

According to the complaint filed by Branch Manager Ganesh Mishra, the bank was closed at around 7:00 PM on October 5 after the day’s work was completed. The next morning, on October 6, bank employee Danish Khan arrived at around 9:30 AM to open the branch and noticed that the lock of the branch manager’s cabin was broken and the shutter had been damaged.
Several items inside the branch were found damaged. The chequebook drop box had been damaged and opened, while table drawers were also found open and damaged. Computer screens and monitors inside the bank were damaged as well.
