Students studying in Classes 9 to 12 across Uttar Pradesh will start receiving scholarships for the financial year 2026-27 from today.
Scholarship Distribution Programme
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the state-level scholarship distribution programme at Lok Bhawan. During the programme, he will hand over scholarship sanction certificates to selected students.
Scholarship Amount to Be Transferred to Bank Accounts
The scholarship amount will be directly transferred to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of eligible students. The programme will also be broadcast to schools across the state so that students and school authorities can participate.
Key Payment & Schedule Details
- Renewal Students (Classes 9–12): Scholarship disbursements are scheduled for October 25 to October 31, 2026.
- Fresh Applicants (Classes 9–12): Scholarship disbursements are expected between January 25 and January 31, 2027, following verification.
The overarching UP Scholarship program is the largest state-level scholarship drive in India. Typically, approximately 2.5 crore (25 million) total students receive annual scholarships across all education levels in Uttar Pradesh.
For historical context, during the previous cycle (2025-26), a massive pool of 84,88,215 total students applied across all categories, out of which 18,64,427 applications were successfully verified as beneficiaries.
This is expected to increase rush in banks. Banks and Government should make prior arrangements to handle rush and provide good customer service.
