The villagers remained on the bank premises, demanding the return of their money and action against the accused.

The incident is related to a person named Ankur Saini, who was working in the Bank. Three months ago, account holders accused Ankur Saini, of accepting money without depositing it into their accounts.

Bank manager has already filed an FIR against Ankur Saini, after which he surrendered in court. According to the bank manager, Ankur Saini—a resident of Muzaffarnagar—was not a regular employee of the bank; his role was limited to operating the generator. However, people claim that Ankur had been working at the bank as a ‘Bank Mitra’ (banking correspondent) for nearly 20 years, which is why the account holders trusted him.

Customers created chaos in the bank and asked the bank authorities to return the money at the earliest.

Such cases of embezzlement of money by private employees of Banks are increasing day by day. Banks should be cautious while using the services of these private employees.
