What is the last date to file ITR?
Income Tax Return (ITR) filing deadlines depend on your taxpayer category. For the Financial Year (FY) 2025-26 (Assessment Year 2026-27), the standard due dates are as follows:

- Salaried Individuals (ITR-1 & ITR-2): July 31, 2026.
- Non-Audit Businesses/Professionals (ITR-3 & ITR-4): August 31, 2026.
- Audit Cases: October 31, 2026.
- Transfer Pricing Cases: November 30, 2026.

What to do if last date missed?
If you missed the last date of ITR filing, then also you can file ITR via the following two methods:
- Belated Return: Can be filed by December 31, 2026, though it attracts late fees up to ₹5,000 ITR Filing Last Date for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27).
- Updated Return (ITR-U): Can be filed up to 4 years from the end of the relevant Assessment Year with additional tax penalties Income Tax Return Filing Last Date FY 2024-25 (AY 2025-26).
