ICICI Bank, one of India’s largest banks, is currently facing allegations of employee terminations that have caused concern among its workforce. Employees have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the bank’s alleged unethical behavior. Reports suggest that a number of employees, including women, have been dismissed without proper notice or valid reasons. Additionally, there are allegations that the bank’s Human Resources department is exerting significant pressure on employees, forcing them to resign against their will. Employees have been forced to resign under the threat of being terminated without receiving a relieving letter or experience letter.
Earlier the Labour Commissioner had also summoned the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank, Mr. Sandeep Bakshi, to a meeting scheduled for June 28, 2024. The Labour Commissioner’s office has received numerous emails alleging that ICICI Bank has engaged in the illegal termination of employees without providing adequate prior notice.
