Maharajganj: Officers working in the Maharajganj region of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank have raised serious concerns over alleged workplace harassment by a senior official. According to officers, the issue is not new and has been continuing for a long time.

Employees have alleged that the Regional Manager, Mukesh Jain, frequently uses abusive and insulting language during official meetings. Officers claim that such behaviour happens repeatedly and cannot be treated as a one-time incident.

In a recent incident, an officer named Shivam Srivastava was allegedly abused in front of other staff members. Officers say that when he objected and tried to defend his dignity, the situation worsened instead of being resolved. A video related to the incident is going viral on social media.

In the video, the Regional Manager can be seen shouting at the staff. The body language and tone of the regional manager can be termed as threatening. Several Officers were present in the meeting.

The officer said – I am not your servant. I am the bank’s servant. A heated conversation ensued between the two. At last, someone said – You come to the regional office.

Earlier an officer, Pawan Tripathi, was allegedly subjected to severe verbal abuse a few months ago. Officers claim that the incident affected his health, and he later required medical treatment. They further allege that instead of taking action against the senior official, the affected officer was transferred, which has raised questions among staff.

What Bank Employees say?

Bank Experts say that such behaviour at the workplace is not acceptable. A Regional Manager holds a position of responsibility and is expected to guide, motivate, and support officers, not intimidate or insult them. Using abusive language and publicly humiliating employees damages trust, affects mental health, and lowers work efficiency.

Employees have demanded a fair and independent inquiry and immediate corrective steps to ensure a healthy and respectful work environment. As of now, there has been no official response from the bank management.
