Hasanpur, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: A case has been filed against Digvijay Bhati, the national president of Bharatiya Kisan Union, and another named person, along with some unknown individuals, for allegedly assaulting and using caste-based slurs against Abhishek Gehlot, the branch manager of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank in Chandanpur Khadar. The FIR has been lodged at Rahra police station under sections of the SC/ST Act and for obstructing government work.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on December 4 at around 2:15 PM. Manager Abhishek Gehlot stated that Digvijay Bhati, a resident named Ramveer, and several others forcefully entered the bank. They allegedly pressured him to waive the loan dues of Ramveer’s wife, Parvesh.

Station House Officer Atveer Singh Chauhan confirmed that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. He assured that action will be taken soon and the accused will be arrested.
Accused Put Forward Their Side
Digvijay Bhati, while presenting his version, said that he had gone to the bank to raise an issue concerning a farmer. He claimed that many farmers were present with him. According to Bhati, the bank manager took ₹85,000 from the farmer instead of ₹55,000 and issued a receipt of only ₹50,000. He said he protested against this and added that if a case is filed against him for speaking up for farmers, he is ready to face it.
Meanwhile, farmer Ramveer Singh alleged that the bank officials have been continuously exploiting him. He said that if no action is taken on his complaint, he would be forced to commit suicide.
