The Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank is an Indian Regional Rural Bank (RRB) in Uttar Pradesh established on 1 May 2025. The bank was formed by the amalgamation of Aryavart Bank, Baroda UP Bank and Prathama UP Gramin Bank under The “One State, One RRB” policy of government.
Regional Secretary Abhishek Singh said that the bank often issues clarification notices to employees without any valid reason. When branch managers report staff shortages, instead of receiving support, they face harassment. Employees also complained of being transferred suddenly without prior notice, not getting proper arrangements for leave, and being forced to manage an entire branch single-handedly under pressure.

Another big complaint of the employees is that the bank does not listen to their problems. Their phone calls are not answered, and even after informing about casual leave, it is marked as unauthorized leave. The employees warned that if these problems are not solved, it will lead to a big protest.

The employees raised slogans against the regional manager, demanding an immediate inquiry and strict action against the officers found guilty.
Gonda District President Rajiv Verma further stated that despite repeated complaints, no corrective action has been taken so far. He warned that if the problems are not addressed soon, the employees will be forced to launch a larger agitation, and the responsibility will lie entirely with the regional manager and the personnel department.
Since the establishment of the bank, protests have been reported from several districts of Uttar Pradesh. From time to time, employees have been staging demonstrations, raising concerns about the harassment and unfair treatment of officers. The repeated agitations highlight growing dissatisfaction among staff and point towards an urgent need for corrective measures by the management.
