Union Bank of India Strike: The All India Union Bank Officers’ Federation and the All India Union Bank Employees’ Association have issued a press release stating that their discussions with the bank’s management have failed. The union has accused the management of not addressing important issues. According to the union, the Executive Director (ED) of the bank tried to avoid discussing the real concerns during the meeting.
The union had earlier submitted a list of 20 major problems that need urgent attention, including staff shortages, harassment of employees, unrealistic targets, and poor digital systems. However, the management does not seem to be taking these issues seriously. As a last resort, the union has decided to go on strike on September 27, 2024.
