Union Bank of India Appoints Amresh Prasad as New Executive Director

Union Bank of India has announced the appointment of Shri Amresh Prasad as its new Executive Director. The appointment has been approved by the Central Government through a notification dated November 24, 2025, according to the bank’s official communication.
The bank said that Shri Amresh Prasad, who currently serves as Chief General Manager at Punjab National Bank, will take charge as Executive Director for three years from the date he assumes office. His tenure will continue until October 31, 2028, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders — whichever comes earlier.

Shri Amresh Prasad brings with him more than 32 years of banking experience, covering key areas such as:
- Branch banking
- Zonal office operations
- Corporate credit
- Credit review and monitoring
- Transaction monitoring
- Head office–level responsibilities
He is a Chemistry graduate and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He has also attended multiple leadership and training programs, including the Leadership Development Program at SBIL Kolkata and the Aarohan 2023 FSIB Program conducted by the Financial Services Institution.
