UAE Announces Holiday for Government Employees on New Year Day

In a recent announcement, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government declared that New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025, will be a paid holiday for all government employees. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) confirmed on Friday that federal sector workers will have the day off. The holiday will mark the beginning of the new year, allowing workers to celebrate the occasion.
The FAHR also stated that work will resume the following day, Thursday, January 2, 2025. In its statement, the authority extended its warm wishes to the UAE’s leadership, government, citizens, and residents. FAHR prayed for the well-being and good health of all, as the country looks forward to the new year.
