SBI Employees in Ernakulam have been ordered to Work on Holidays.

The order states that as per RBI instructions, re-KYC forms are required to be migrated to the respective LCPCs within the stipulated timelines. Despite repeated directions from the Controllers, the pace of submission and migration of forms from the Region remains highly unsatisfactory.
The letter states that 80% of the said target is to be finished by 26.10.2026. Branches shall make the necessary arrangements to work during the next two holidays (24.10.2026 and 25.10.2026) wherever required, in accordance with the applicable instructions, to achieve the stipulated targets. Branch Managers must personally monitor the progress and ensure that the required number of forms is submitted to the respective LCPCs within the prescribed timelines. The progress to be reported to RBO on a daily basis.
The letter has raised a big question on the work culture in India’s largest Bank. On one hand, Bank employees are demanding 5-day banking. On the other hand, Bank management is forcing employees working even on Holidays.
