Two SBI Employees Die After Vehicle Falls Into Water-Filled Ditch in Assam’s Dhemaji
There is a sad news for the entire banking fraternity. Two employees of the State Bank of India (SBI) lost their lives in a road accident late on Sunday night in Assam’s Dhemaji district. The vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a water-filled roadside ditch at Hahchora.

The deceased have been identified as Hirakjyoti Mili, a cashier at SBI Dhemaji branch, and Ratul Konwar, an accountant at the same branch. Both employees were travelling towards Dhemaji when the accident took place.

According to initial reports, heavy rainfall was occurring in the area at the time of the accident. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while taking a turn on the road. The vehicle then plunged into a deep ditch filled with water.
Due to the impact of the crash and the depth of the water, the occupants became trapped inside the submerged vehicle and drowned before rescue teams could reach them.

Local residents noticed the vehicle and informed the police. Emergency teams and local authorities rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the ditch.
The accident occurred during the ongoing flood situation in Dhemaji district, where continuous rainfall has damaged roads and reduced visibility in many areas.
