In a peculiar robbery in Haryana’s Rewari district, thieves targeted the Central Bank of India in Kosli on Saturday night, intending to steal an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). However, they mistakenly made off with a passbook printing machine instead.

Robbery Gone Wrong

The incident occurred during the late hours when the thieves broke into the bank by cutting through its main grill. Their objective was clear—to steal the ATM. However, due to their inability to differentiate between the two machines, they ended up stealing the passbook printing machine.

When the robbers reached their hideout, they discovered their error. Instead of cash, they found papers, a printer, a battery, and other components related to the passbook printing machine.

Police Investigation

The robbery came to light on Sunday morning when locals noticed the break-in and alerted the police. Law enforcement officials reviewed CCTV footage from the bank and nearby areas to piece together the sequence of events. The footage revealed that the thieves had also attempted to break into the bank’s strong room but failed.

Before leaving the premises, the culprits stole three printers, four batteries, and a DVR, having first cut the wires of the CCTV cameras to avoid being tracked. Despite their efforts, the police managed to recover data from the damaged CCTV system.

Similar Incident in Noida

In a separate incident in Noida’s Sector 30B Block, a businessman named Amarjeet was kidnapped at gunpoint. The criminals looted cash and other valuables from his residence and later abandoned him in a deserted location. They also warned Amarjeet’s family against contacting the police.

Following a complaint filed by Amarjeet’s wife, Parminder Kaur, a case was registered. However, initial investigations revealed no signs of forced entry into the house.

Police Actions

Both cases are under investigation. In the Rewari robbery, police are working to identify the suspects using CCTV footage and other evidence. Meanwhile, in Noida, authorities are pursuing leads to apprehend the kidnappers and recover the stolen property.
