Thief Steals Gun and Cartridges From SBI Bank in Bikaner After Failing to Steal Cash
Bikaner, Rajasthan: A thief stole a gun and cartridges from a branch of State Bank of India (SBI) bank in Bikaner late last night. The incident took place around 11:50 pm on Friday at the Bikampur branch, located in the Bajju police station area. According to reports, when thief failed to steal the cash, he stole a 12-bore gun and 27 cartridges kept inside the bank.
After the incident, Branch Manager Shiva Pandey filed a complaint at the Bajju police station. CCTV footage of the full incident has also been found. In his report, the manager said that the thief entered the branch from the back side. He broke the grill gate and the shutter outside the branch to get inside.
The thief then went to the cash room, broke the grill gate there, and entered. He tried to open the strong room but could not take any money. The manager also said that the thief turned off the CCTV cameras inside the bank. When he failed to steal cash, he took the gun and cartridges kept in the strong room.
Based on the report, the police registered a case. The investigation is being handled by SI Maniram Godara. He said that the search for the thief is in progress using the CCTV footage. CCTV footage from nearby areas is also being checked.
