Shri Prasanta Mahapatra took charge as Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Mumbai. He will handle the Corporation Finance Investigation Department and Recovery and Refund Department of SEBI.
Before his promotion as Executive Director, Shri Mahapatra was Chief General Manager and has handled diverse departments since joining SEBI in the year April 1999. He has served in various departments, including the Market Regulation Department, the Investigation Department, the Enquiries and Adjudication Department, the Market Intermediaries Regulation and Supervision Department, the Corporation Finance Department, and the Investment Management Department. He has also served at the Eastern Regional Office of the Board at Kolkata.
He has also been a member of various domestic policymaking and advisory committees addressing areas of mutual interest and cooperation with international Regulators.
Shri Prasanta Mahapatra holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Utkal University, Odisha.
