Brief Profile of Shri Prabodh Parikh
Prabodh has more than three decades of rich experience in the banking industry, with strong expertise in project finance, corporate banking, and risk management. He earlier served as the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at the State Bank of India (SBI), where he played a key role in major business transformation initiatives, improving operational efficiency, and steering large financial programmes for the country’s largest public sector bank.
He was also deputed to the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) as Officer on Special Duty, where he contributed to setting up and operationalising India’s main development finance institution for infrastructure funding. His work helped lay the foundation for an institution that is central to driving India’s long-term infrastructure growth.
During his career at SBI, Prabodh also served as Vice President and Head of Credit at the bank’s New York office, overseeing international credit operations and risk systems. He later led the Project Finance and Structuring Strategic Business Unit in India. His vast experience across both domestic and international banking has given him a strong understanding of traditional banking practices as well as modern financial innovations.
