The State Bank of India (SBI) plans to purchase 60 apartments worth ₹500 crore in upscale south Mumbai to accommodate its executives.

This highlights how government-owned banks provide attractive benefits to balance out disparities in pay compared to private sector competitors. The bank has invited architects to apply for the project, with the selection process involving a design competition.

The chosen architect will also serve as a project management consultant, overseeing the development of these apartments. The preference is for apartments either ready or currently under construction, ideally located within a dedicated block exclusively for SBI.
