SBI Employees held hostage in Haryana, Threatened with Pistol
A big news has been reported from State Bank of India in Haryana. Villagers took hostage a bank team that had gone to Rithal Narwal village to recover a loan. A young man, claiming to be the village head, brandished a pistol and threatened to kill the bank staff if they returned to the village. An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Sadar police station.
In a complaint to the police, Naveen Mor, manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) Bhalaut, stated that on January 16, he and his colleagues Praveen Kumar and Saurabh Sharma went to Rithal Narwal village to collect outstanding loan amounts.
A man named Manjeet had taken a loan from the bank but stopped depositing Loan EMIs, with an outstanding installment of 1.38 lakh rupees. When bank staff visited Manjeet’s home for loan recovery, his mother informed them that Manjeet had gone to the farm. When they went to the farm, they found six or seven young men with him. When a discussion regarding recovery began, a young man named Mohit appeared and claimed to be the village head. He began abusing and threatening the bank team, holding them hostage in a room.
He said don’t let the three go, I will come right away. After some time, Mohit came. He had a country made pistol in his hand. Unlocking it, he threatened to kill the bank staff. His companions tried to calm him down. After some time, the accused chased the three bank employees out of the room and said that if they come to the village again, they would be killed.
The crime against Bank Employees is increasing day by day. Banks and Government should look into it.
