Robbery in Manappuram Gold Bank in Gurugram Haryana

An incident of bank robbery in broad daylight has been reported in Gurugram, Haryana. Robbers looted cash worth lakhs of rupees from Manappuram Gold Bank in Gurugram. Robbers also critically injured the staff working in Bank.
The incident took place between 5:30 and 6 pm, when 4 to 5 armed men entered the premises and took the bank staff hostage at gunpoint. The assailants reached the bank and immediately targeted the bank manager, issuing threats and demanding that all valuables be handed over. The manager strongly resisted their actions. In response, the criminals attacked him, inflicting a serious head injury.
Police officials at the scene confirmed that two to three other individuals were also injured during the course of the robbery and have been admitted to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
The robbers entered the bank posing as auditors, showing fake identity cards. When staff became suspicious, they attacked the staff. They remained inside the Manappuram Gold bank for around 15 minutes.
The exact value of the stolen goods is yet to be officially confirmed, but police sources suggest that the criminals may have escaped with gold and cash worth lakhs of rupees. The amount of Gold stolen has not been revealed yet. Authorities have seized CCTV footage from nearby areas as part of their investigation.
According to the police, a security guard and two other employees were present at the Mannapuram Gold Loan branch at around 6 pm on Saturday evening. At that time, the branch was about to close, when two people entered the Manappuram Gold Bank branch. They introduced themselves as auditors and within two minutes, two-three more people entered inside bank. Immediately, they looted around Rs 9.5 lakh cash at gunpoint. The amount of Gold stolen has not been revealed yet. During this robbery, they also injured two people present there.
Earlier also, a similar robbery took place in Manappuram Gold Bank. In 2017, 7 to 8 armed men looted 32 kg gold worth Rs 10 crore from a branch of Manappuram Finance gold loan bank on the busy New Railway Road in Gurugram. The robbers also took away 7.8 lakhs in cash. Firstly they sprayed chemicals on the CCTV camera and then overpowered security guard by stabbing him on head. The robbers posed as customers and also entered their address in the visitors’ register. Once they entered the bank, they took the bank’s staff hostage and looted Gold. Two other persons were also injured during the robbery.
