How the Robbery Unfolded
The incident happened around 2:00 PM when most of the bank employees were away for lunch. Taking advantage of the situation, the robber entered the bank and targeted the few staff members present. He threatened the bank manager and another employee with a knife before locking them inside a toilet.
The robber then demanded information about the cash storage and, using a chair, broke the glass counter to grab the money. After collecting ₹15 lakh, he quickly fled the scene.
Robber’s Disguise and Escape
According to witnesses, the suspect arrived on a motorcycle and wore a helmet throughout the robbery. While he spoke during the crime, his accent was unclear, making it difficult to identify him. The bank’s CCTV cameras recorded the incident, but his disguise has made it challenging to establish his identity.
Police Investigation Underway
Local police in Chalakudy have launched a thorough investigation. They are examining CCTV footage, collecting fingerprints, and speaking to witnesses for further leads. Authorities are working to gather all possible evidence to track down the suspect and recover the stolen money.
