RBI changes names of RRBs, removes some RRBs from 2nd Schedule, Read Details!

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has changed the names of some RRBs, included the names of some RRBs in the second schedule of the RBI Act 1934, and deleted the names of some RRBs from 2nd schedule of the RBI Act 1934.

The names of the six Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) have been altered in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 vide Notification DoR.LIC.No.S7704/16.13.300/2025-26 dated January 12, 2026 and published in the Gazette of India (Part III – Section 4) dated February 03, 2026. The old and new names are as follows:

The names of the following three Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) have been included in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 vide Notification DoR.LIC.No.S7702/16.13.300/2025-26 dated January 12, 2026 and published in the Gazette of India (Part III – Section 4) dated February 03, 2026:

The names of the following seven erstwhile RRBs have been excluded from the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 vide Notification DoR.LIC.No.S7703/16.13.300/2025-26 dated January 12, 2026 and published in the Gazette of India (Part III – Section 4) dated February 03, 2026:
