MP Raghav Chadha said that the government is taking multiple taxes from citizens of India who buy a car and drive it on the road. He said that when a new car is bought, citizen pays a hefty Road Tax on it. For Example, if we consider the Maruti Wagonr Base Model, then Indians need to pay Rs.22,980 as Road Tax. In the case of the Hyundai Creta Base Model, Indians need to pay Rs.1,16,863 as Road Tax. You can see that the Road Tax increases with increase in the cost of the car and Rs.1 lac is a hefty amount.
After this, when citizens drive cars, they need to pay Tax on Petrol and Diesel which starts the multiple taxation system. After this, when you drive a car on the Road, you need to pay Toll Tax. As per MP Raghav Chadha, Indians need to pay Rs.2 per Kilometre as Toll Tax. This leads to a huge cost in running a car. For example – when we drive from Delhi to Bhopal, we need to pay Rs.1375 as Toll as per Google Maps.

The tax system has taken the entire nation by storm and citizens are requesting the government to reduce the taxes. Citizens especially the middle class, are saying that they are overburdened with the tax system and government needs to find a solution to it. Very very unfair taxing system for purchase of new car as well as selling of new car. Needs to be addressed immediately
