Gonda: In a shocking incident in Akbarpur village under the Nawabganj police station area of Gonda district, a bank employee was looted by a group of miscreants traveling in a car. The bank employee – Yogendra Pratap Singh, is a law officer currently posted at the Prathama Gramin Bank, Gonda branch. He had recently been transferred from the Jaunpur branch and was in the process of relocating to Gonda.

On Monday night around 11:30 PM, Yogendra had reached Devkali bypass in Ayodhya after sending his luggage by a pickup truck. While waiting there for a roadways bus to Gonda, he was approached by a man driving an Ertiga car, who offered him a ride, claiming he was also going to Gonda and already had four other passengers in the vehicle. Trusting the driver, Yogendra boarded the car.

However, instead of heading toward Gonda, the driver suddenly turned the vehicle towards the Katra-Kishundaspur road. Once they neared Akbarpur village, the situation turned dangerous. The driver and the four so-called passengers, who were actually miscreants, began assaulting Yogendra. They tied a towel around his neck, beat him, and then pushed him out of the moving car.

After assaulting him, the gang looted ₹9,000 in cash, a gold ring, a gold chain, and his bag, before speeding away in the car. Despite the trauma, Yogendra managed to reach a nearby location with the help of a local youth and reported the incident at the Nawabganj police station.

Upon receiving the report, Circle Officer (CO) Dr. U.P. Singh reached the spot to assess the situation. The police are currently investigating the matter and are trying to track the miscreants using CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.

Police Station In-charge Vishwas Chaturvedi confirmed that the incident has been reported and said that a thorough investigation is underway to identify and arrest the culprits. More details will be released soon.
