In the case of the Axis Bank robbery in Araria, two police officers and two constables who showed negligence have been suspended by the Araria ASP. ASP Ashok Kumar Singh, in a press release on Tuesday evening at 9:30, revealed that during the incident, two patrolling police officers, including a Sub-Inspector (SI) and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from the Quick Response Team, were present in the city on duty but still allowed the incident to occur.

It appears that the officers and constables were careless in performing their duties and responsibilities. In light of this, SI Dolly Kumari, ASI Shyam Kumar, and two other Tiger Mobile constables, Ritesh and Kundan, have been suspended.

The incident took place at Axis Bank in Adibi Chowk, Nagar Thana area, where armed criminals, numbering six, looted ₹90 lakhs. Despite the police being on duty and patrolling the city, the criminals created havoc by holding customers captive in the bank for approximately 20 to 25 minutes.

The loot occurred around 12 noon on Tuesday when armed robbers entered the bank. They took the bank manager near the locker at gunpoint, attempted to open the locker, and resorted to physical assault and firing when the manager resisted. Subsequently, they detained customers, committing robbery.

After the loot, the criminals fled the scene, firing three rounds to intimidate people. Fortunately, no one was hit by the gunfire.

CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing five to six armed criminals entering the bank one after another. They can be seen threatening and physically engaging with customers, instructing everyone to raise their hands and locking them in a room before proceeding with the robbery.
