Punjab National Bank (PNB) has introduced a new Transfer Policy for its Employees. As per the new Transfer Policy, an officer will be posted for 3 years in a branch, 6 years in a circle and 9 years in a zone. The employees are protesting against this new transfer policy as this transfer from circle or zone might create issues for them regarding family and social responsibilities.

But now a video of MD&CEO of PNB is going viral on social media. In video, MD says that 63% officers from Bihar, 45% officers from Haryana and 39% officers from Uttar Pradesh are posted outside of their home state. He says that unless and until this new transfer policy is implemented, how will these officers go back to their state?

He also questions – Are we doing justice to the organisation? He says that this is the only correction that has been made in this transfer policy. He says that he always thinks of his employees and always works for the welfare of employees. It is his responsibility to bring these officers back to their native state.

In the video, he has requested the Circle Heads of various Circles (Cities) to make officers aware of this new transfer policy and tell them that this policy is for their benefit. He said all public sector banks have more stringent policies than this. PNB has introduced 9 year clause for zone transfer whereas other banks have maximum 5 year clause.

He said that the Bank Board has approved the policy and Government has asked to do it so it is supposed to be done. He requested Circle Heads to interact with Bank staff in branches and make them aware of this new policy. Watch video below 👇
