PNB has publicly shared Salary and Details of its Employees

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has publicly shared the details of employees such as name, branch and salary.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has released a wide range of information under Section 4(1)(b) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. The disclosure covers details about the bank’s organisation, functions, employees, decision-making process, customer services, policies, RTI mechanism, disciplinary proceedings, transfer policy and other important areas.

PNB has provided information about its name and address, head of the organisation, vision and mission, organisational structure, functions and duties, as well as details of various committees constituted by the bank.

The bank has also disclosed details about the powers and duties of its officers and employees. According to the disclosure, officers from JMGS-I to TEGS-V exercise different administrative and lending powers depending on their position, scale, post and assigned responsibilities.

The delegation of powers can be revised according to organisational requirements and Government and RBI guidelines. PNB has also explained that loan sanction decisions are taken by the concerned sanctioning authority after considering the relevant facts and circumstances.

PNB has provided information about its loan decision-making process and the different levels at which financial decisions are taken. The disclosure mentions RAM, iRAM, MCC and PLPs as centres involved in loan sanctioning and credit processing.

The bank has also stated that it follows an organisational structure with accountability and control mechanisms based on applicable RBI, CVC and SEBI guidelines.

The disclosure also contains time norms for sanctioning different types of loan proposals. PNB has mentioned a time norm of five days for mortgage-based loans such as housing loans, OD/TL to housing loan borrowers for personal needs, My Property Loan and Reverse Mortgage.

For non-mortgage-based loans, including vehicle, gold, personal and pension loans, the mentioned time norm is three days. Different time norms have been mentioned for education loans depending on the circumstances and level of processing.

PNB has further disclosed information about its rules, regulations, manuals and records used for carrying out various functions. The disclosure includes references to the duties and responsibilities of employees, pension regulations, officer service regulations and other manuals and instructions.

The bank has also provided information about categories of documents maintained under its control, including shareholder records, AGM proceedings, annual reports, shareholding patterns, committee meeting records, balance sheets, customer and borrower documents and contracts with third parties.

The bank has provided details of its Customer Service Committees and customer interaction mechanisms. These committees are established to examine the quality of customer services and consider feedback and suggestions from customers.

The disclosure states that Customers’ Day is observed at branches and Zonal Offices on the 10th of every month, or on the next working day if the 10th is a holiday. It also states that the meetings are open to the public and their minutes are uploaded on the relevant portal.

One of the important employee-related disclosures concerns disciplinary proceedings. PNB has stated that 944 minor or major penalty proceedings were pending as of March 31, 2026. During financial year 2025-26, a total of 1,454 minor or major penalty proceedings were finalised.

PNB has also disclosed information about RTI training provided to its officials. The document states that 24 persons were trained in 2017-18, 92 in 2018-19, 33 in 2019-20, 26 in 2020-21, 19 in 2022-23, 273 in 2023-24 and 296 in 2025-26. The bank has also mentioned that residential RTI training programmes for dealing officers were conducted in June 2025 at different centres across India.

The disclosure also provides links to PNB’s Transfer Policy and Transfer Guidelines for Staff. These documents have been made available under the bank’s proactive RTI disclosure framework.

PNB has provided information about employee remuneration as well. The disclosure contains links relating to the names and designations of employees and their gross monthly remuneration. It also explains that the remuneration of the Chairman and Managing Director and Executive Directors is governed by the Government of India, while the remuneration of other employees is determined according to applicable regulations and settlements reached with employee unions.

The bank has also disclosed information about its procurement process, including tender notices, corrigenda, details of awarded bids, suppliers and service providers, works contracts, applicable rates and total contract amounts. Information regarding government schemes and programmes is also made available, including their objectives, eligibility criteria, procedure for availing benefits, duration, targets, subsidy details and beneficiary information.

A large number of PNB policies and customer-related documents have also been placed in the public domain. These include the KYC-AML Policy, Grievance Redressal Policy, Customer Compensation Policy, Model Policy on Bank Deposits, Cheque Collection Policy, Whistle Blower Policy, Customer Rights Policy, Doorstep Banking Policy, Social Media Policy and Policy for General Management of Branches. Information on deposit and loan interest rates, fees and service charges, nomination facilities, deceased claims, locker facilities, unclaimed accounts and other customer services is also available.

PNB has also disclosed information about various banking services, including deposits, loans, fixed deposits, internet banking, doorstep banking, debit cards, PNB ONE, UPI, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, NACH, SMS banking, NRI services, forex services, mutual funds, merchant banking, depository services and other products and services. The bank has stated that a large amount of general information is available electronically through its website for public access.

The disclosure also covers PNB’s grievance redressal and RTI mechanisms. The bank has provided information and links relating to its grievance redressal mechanism, applications received and disposed of, schemes and programmes, contracts, annual reports and FAQs. It has also provided information concerning RTI applications and appeals received and disposed of.

PNB has disclosed details of its Central Public Information Officer and First Appellate Authority, along with information about its RTI Cell. It has also described a committee of senior officials that deals with RTI matters involving sensitive, strategic, commercial or other important information and considers whether such information can be disclosed.

The bank has additionally disclosed details of third-party audits of its voluntary RTI disclosures for 2023-24 and 2024-25. PNB states that it has placed a large amount of information in the public domain to reduce the need for citizens to file RTI applications. This includes information relating to corporate governance, investor relations, customer care, careers, interest rates, personal banking, agricultural and rural banking, NRI services, international banking and SME products.
