Pahalgam Terror Attack: India Responds Strongly, Full List of 14 Local Terrorists Revealed

Union Minister Giriraj Singh strongly criticized Pakistan after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam. He said, “Pakistan is cowardly. India believes in the principle of ‘live and let live’. In India, minorities are safe, but Hindus face attacks in Pakistan and Bangladesh,” he added.

Intelligence Agencies Identify 14 Local Terrorists

Meanwhile, Indian intelligence agencies have prepared a list of 14 local terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir. These local militants are known to help Pakistani terrorists by providing logistical support and ground-level assistance.

According to sources, Indian security forces are actively hunting these terrorists. Some have already been neutralized, and strict action will also be taken against their families and homes. Search operations are ongoing, and authorities have promised that once these terrorists are caught, they will be eliminated.

Here’s the Full List of 14 Local Terrorists:

  1. Adil Rehman Dentu – Sopore commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), active since 2021.
  2. Asif Ahmed Sheikh – Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist, district commander in Awantipora, active since 2022.
  3. Ehsan Ahmed Sheikh – LeT terrorist active in Pulwama since 2023.
  4. Harish Nazir – LeT militant from Pulwama.
  5. Amir Nazir Wani – Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist operating in Pulwama.
  6. Yawar Ahmed Bhat – Active JeM terrorist from Pulwama.
  7. Asif Ahmed Kanday – Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist from Shopian, joined in 2015.
  8. Naseer Ahmed Wani – LeT militant from Shopian, key aide to Pakistani terrorists.
  9. Shahid Ahmed Kute – LeT and TRF member from Shopian, active since 2023.
  10. Amir Ahmed Dar – Active LeT and TRF terrorist from Shopian.
  11. Adnan Safi Dar – Joined LeT and TRF in 2024, helps connect Pakistani handlers with local terrorists.
  12. Zubair Ahmed Wani – Operational commander of Hizbul Mujahideen in Anantnag, active since 2018.
  13. Haroon Rashid Gani – Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist from Anantnag, trained in PoK.
  14. Zubair Ahmed Gani – Top LeT terrorist from Kulgam, also linked to TRF.

Political Reactions Over Pahalgam Attack

Union Minister Piyush Goyal also slammed Pakistan’s former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying India will not be threatened. Goyal said, “Pakistan’s only focus is spreading terror. Even the people of Pakistan won’t agree with Bilawal’s dangerous statements.”

Bilawal had earlier made a controversial statement during a rally, threatening violence over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.

AAP Leader Saurabh Bharadwaj Questions Government’s Security Measures

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj raised serious questions about how terrorists could enter 200 km deep inside Indian territory despite heavy security. He criticized the BJP government for creating a political environment where anyone questioning the government is called “anti-national.”

He also reminded people that during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, then-Gujarat CM Narendra Modi had openly criticized the Central Government for security failures.

Bharadwaj added that now, opposition leaders are being abused just for asking similar questions about national security.

Jammu and Kashmir Minister Sakina Itoo Assures Help to Kashmiri Students

After reports of attacks on Kashmiri students across India following the Pahalgam incident, Jammu and Kashmir’s Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced special help for them. She said she would be available in Chandigarh and Punjab to coordinate and ensure their safety. Helpline numbers were also shared for students to contact in case of emergencies.

Comments by Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane

In a highly controversial statement, Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane urged Hindus to check the religion of shopkeepers before making purchases. He said, “The color of jihadists is green,” and alleged that terrorists first confirmed the religion of the victims before shooting them.

UN Security Council Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack, calling it a “reprehensible act of terrorism.” In a press statement, the UNSC members demanded that those responsible for the attack — including planners and sponsors — must be held accountable.

They stressed the need for international cooperation to bring the perpetrators to justice and reiterated that terrorism is unjustifiable, regardless of the reasons behind it.

India Takes Tough Actions Against Pakistan

In response to the Pahalgam attack, India announced several strong measures:

  • Expulsion of Pakistani military officials
  • Suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty
  • Closure of the Attari land-transit post
  • Halting visas for Pakistani nationals
  • Closure of the Kartarpur Corridor

Pakistan, in retaliation, closed its airspace for Indian airlines and stopped trade with India through third countries. Pakistan also warned that stopping their share of Indus river water could be considered an “act of war.”

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar Cautions Against Closing Airspace

Sharad Pawar, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), warned that banning flights over Pakistan could increase flight costs for Indian passengers traveling to Europe. He suggested that such actions could hurt India more than Pakistan.

Security Forces Demolish Terrorists’ Houses in Kashmir

Indian security forces used IEDs to demolish the homes of active Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Kashmir.

So far, five houses have been destroyed, belonging to:

  • Adil Gojri (Bijbehara)
  • Asir Sheikh (Tral)
  • Ahsan Sheikh (Pulwama)
  • Shahid Kuttey (Shopian)
  • Zakir Ganie (Kulgam)
