The body of Abhishek Varun, a bank manager who had gone missing, was found in a well in Patna’s Beur area, raising many questions about the cause of his death. His scooter was also recovered from the same well. The police have launched a full investigation to find out whether it was an accident, suicide, or foul play.

Abhishek Varun was working as a branch manager at ICICI Lombard in Patna. He was a resident of Kankarbagh. He went missing on Sunday night, and his family had been searching for him since then.

What Happened That Night?

Abhishek and his wife had gone to a party. After the party ended, his wife returned home, but Abhishek told her that he would come later. However, he did not return.

According to Abhishek’s brother, around 2:45 am, Abhishek called his wife and told her that he had met with an accident. But shortly after that, his phone got switched off, which made the family extremely worried.

When he didn’t return by morning, his wife filed a missing complaint at the Kankarbagh police station.

During the police investigation, the last location of Abhishek’s phone was tracked to the Beur area — a relatively isolated and deserted place, around 4 kilometers from where he was last seen.

After the FIR was registered, police immediately started searching. CCTV footage was checked, and alerts were sent to all police stations.

Eventually, the police found his body inside a well in the Beur area, along with his scooter, on Tuesday morning.

Post-Mortem and Ongoing Investigation

The body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Right now, the police are treating this case seriously and are investigating all possibilities — whether this was:

  • An accidental fall into the well
  • A case of suicide
  • Or if there is some suspicious or criminal activity involved

More details are expected after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
