A man was injured after a bullet was accidentally fired from a security guard’s rifle inside a bank on GT Road in Panipat, Haryana. The incident took place at the Bank of Baroda branch, causing panic among customers and staff.
What Happened in the Bank?
The bullet was suddenly discharged under suspicious circumstances from the rifle of the bank’s guard. The injured person has been identified as Ankush, a 36-year-old resident of Asanal village. He had come to the bank to complete an RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) transaction when the incident happened.
According to eyewitnesses, the rifle went off unexpectedly, and Ankush was shot in the leg. As soon as the shot was fired, chaos erupted inside the bank. People rushed out, and bank employees called the police immediately.
Injured Taken to Hospital
Ankush was quickly taken to a private hospital in Model Town, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be stable.
Police Investigation Underway
City Panipat police station in-charge, Inspector Kuldeep, confirmed that they received a call about the incident. The police have reached the spot and are investigating how the bullet was fired. A case is being registered against the guard, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
