Loan Defaulter Misbehaves with Bank Staff in Varanasi and Tried to Hold them Hostage

Varanasi: A loan account holder forcibly entered a bank branch, misbehaved with staff, and tried to hold them hostage after being reminded to pay his loan installment. The incident took place at Bank of India in Badi Bazar, Varanasi, and a case has been registered at Chetganj police station against the accused, Shiv Pratap Singh Chandel.

According to branch manager Jitendra Kumar Dubey, the bank staff had called Shiv Pratap Singh Chandel to remind him about his pending loan installment. Instead of responding properly, he threatened to kill the bank staff over the phone.

On February 15 at night, while audit work was in progress at the bank, Shiv Pratap Singh Chandel forcibly entered the branch. He tampered with important bank documents while trying to hold the staff and officers hostage. He also misbehaved with the bank employees and threatened them.

He misbehaved with female staff as well and issued death threats. The Chetganj police station in-charge confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
