LIC Employees Extend Support to Bank Strike
LIC Employees have extended Support to Bank Strike from 28 to 30 September 2026.
The All India LIC Employees’ Federation (ALICEF) has extended its support to the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) and bank employees participating in the three-day nationwide strike scheduled from September 28 to September 30, 2026.
ALICEF said it supports the banking fraternity in its demand for the implementation of the 5-Day Banking Week. The federation stated that the 5-Day Banking Week had already been agreed upon and signed between the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and UFBU during the last Bipartite Settlement.

ALICEF said that since the commitment was reached through collective bargaining, it should be implemented without any further delay. The federation urged the IBA to fulfil its commitment and take the necessary steps to introduce the 5-Day Banking Week.
According to the federation, the demand is linked to the changing nature of banking, rapid digitalisation and the need for a reasonable work-life balance for bank employees who are handling increasing responsibilities.
The All India LIC Employees’ Federation also said that it stands with bank employees in their demand and expressed hope that the IBA will respond positively and resolve the issue without further delay.
