Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a new scheme for women in India. Through this scheme, women can earn upto Rs.7000 per month. This is really a good scheme which empowers women, helps them earn livelihood and also spread awareness about insurance.
The name of this innovative scheme is Bima Sakhi Yojana. It is an ambitious initiative by the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) to empower women financially. The scheme aims to recruit 100,000 Bima Sakhis in a year and 2,00,000 Bima Sakhis in 3 years.
What are the Key Objectives of Bima Sakhi Yojana?
The Bima Sakhi Yojana has been launched by the LIC to spread awareness about insurance. For example – by recruiting women in villages as Bima Sakhi, LIC can spread awareness about insurance in villages and Bima Sakhis can also earn money via selling insurance. They key objectives of LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana are:

Bima Sakhi Yojana Age Limit and Education Qualifications
LIC has released eligibility criteria for women to be hired as Bima Sakhi. Women between 18-70 years of age can apply for the post of Bima Sakhi. Women should have also passed Class 10th to work as Bima Sakhi.
- Target Audience: Women aged 18–70 with at least a 10th-grade education.
- Recruitment Goals: LIC plans to enroll 100,000 Bima Sakhis in the first year and 200,000 within three years.
Compensation Structure
LIC is also offering a good salary structure to Bima Sakhis. Bima Sakhi can easily earn upto Rs.7000 by working with LIC.
- Year 1: Monthly stipend of ₹7,000.
- Year 2: Monthly stipend of ₹6,000.
- Year 3: Monthly stipend of ₹5,000.
- Additional Earnings: Commission-based incentives for achieving sales targets.

- Flexible Working Hours: Participants can set their own schedules.
- Training Support: Comprehensive training and financial literacy programs will be provided.
- Career Development: Graduates of the program may advance to roles like development officers at LIC.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Women aged 18–50.
- Education: Minimum qualification of 10th grade.
- Priority: Rural women will be prioritized.
- Exclusions: Relatives of existing agents/employees and retired LIC employees are not eligible.

Online applications will open on December 9, 2024, following the official launch by PM Modi at 2:00 PM. Interested candidates can register and submit their applications through the official LIC website.
