LIC Appoints Dinesh Pant and Ratnakar Patnaik as New Managing Directors

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the largest life insurance provider in the country, has announced the appointment of Dinesh Pant and Ratnakar Patnaik as its new Managing Directors (MDs), effective from June 1, 2025. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has given its approval for these appointments.
Dinesh Pant: A Veteran in LIC
Dinesh Pant brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously served as the Executive Director (Actuarial) and Appointed Actuary at LIC. Pant joined the company back in 1989, and over the past three decades, he has gained invaluable expertise in the insurance sector.
Pant is well-versed in the operations and policies of LIC, having played a crucial role in implementing key reforms and strategic changes. Before being appointed as Managing Director, he also held the position of Chief Investment Officer and Executive Director at LIC.
Ratnakar Patnaik: An Experienced Leader
Ratnakar Patnaik, who joined LIC as a Direct Recruit Officer in September 1990, has also been appointed as Managing Director. Patnaik has worked in various significant roles throughout his career, including serving as Senior Divisional Manager in Indore and Jamshedpur. He also served as Regional Manager (Marketing/CLIA) in the Eastern Zone.
With his deep understanding of LIC’s operations and customer needs, Patnaik is expected to strengthen the company’s market position and help in better serving its customers across India.
