Women applying for the Haryana government’s Lado Lakshmi Yojana have been advised to ensure that their personal and family details are correct to receive financial assistance under the scheme. In Rewari district, errors in bank account details, dates of birth and annual family income are creating difficulties in verifying applications. Women have been advised to check their Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), also known as the Family ID, and correct any mistakes before applying for the scheme.

In the second phase of the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, around 52,000 women in Rewari district are expected to receive benefits. More than 10,000 women have already submitted their applications online through the scheme’s portal. These applications are currently under review by the concerned department. Once the verification process is completed, eligible applicants will be issued a pension ID, after which the distribution of financial assistance will begin.

According to officials, the verification process is facing difficulties because some women have not linked their bank accounts with Aadhaar. In addition, differences in dates of birth recorded in various documents are creating problems during the verification of applications. Women are therefore advised to visit their respective banks and ensure that their accounts are active and Aadhaar-linked.

Under the first phase of the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, around 18,000 women in Rewari district are already receiving financial assistance of Rs 2,100 per month. The application process for the second phase has now gathered pace, and the department is reviewing the applications submitted by eligible women.

It is expected that this will lead to a huge rush at banks. Women will first visit banks to update their KYC details. Once the money is credited to their accounts, they may visit the banks again to withdraw it. This is likely to increase the workload of public sector banks due to KYC updation, DBT linking and cash withdrawals. Bank management and the government must make adequate preparations in advance to avoid inconvenience to both customers and bank staff.
