Karur Vysya Bank has announced the re-appointment of CA Dr Chinnasamy Ganesan as a Non-Executive Independent Director of the bank for a second term.
The decision was approved by the bank’s Board of Directors in its meeting held on 4 March 2026. The meeting started at 10:00 AM and concluded at 6:45 PM.
Five-Year Term from April 2026
The bank said that Dr Ganesan will be re-appointed for five years, starting from 25 April 2026 to 24 April 2031. However, the appointment will become effective only after receiving approval from the bank’s shareholders.
The current term of Dr Ganesan as Independent Director is scheduled to end on 24 April 2026.
The bank also confirmed that Dr Ganesan is not debarred from holding the position of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority.
Experienced Chartered Accountant
CA Dr Chinnasamy Ganesan is a Chartered Accountant with more than three decades of professional experience. He has extensive expertise in audit, assurance, taxation, financial reporting and corporate advisory services.
He has worked with many Indian and multinational companies across sectors such as:
- Automotive and auto ancillary
- IT and IT-enabled services
- Telecom
- Industrial and consumer markets
- Pharma and healthcare
- Transport and logistics
- Oil and gas
- Banking, financial services and insurance
He has handled several assignments related to audits, taxation, international financial reporting and due diligence.
Expertise in Financial Reporting
Dr Ganesan has more than 29 years of experience in bank audits and training bank officials in financial reporting.
He specialises in financial reporting standards such as Ind AS, IFRS and US GAAP, along with company law matters, audit and taxation.
He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by a foreign university for his contributions to financial reporting standards.
Work with Banks and Institutions
Dr Ganesan has helped more than 80 companies transition to Ind AS (IFRS in India), including listed and large unlisted companies.
He has also served as a resource person for training institutes such as:
- Regional Training Institute of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India
- Staff Training College of Indian Bank
- Indian Overseas Bank
- Reserve Bank of India
- Several other banks
Currently, he is also an Independent Director at Belstar Microfinance Limited and a partner at R K C G & Associates LLP, Chartered Accountants in Chennai.
Earlier, he served as an Independent Director on the board of RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a Mini-Ratna public sector company under the Ministry of Railways.
