Kanpur: Female Bank Employee Assaulted by Colleagues at Party, Case Registered
In Kanpur Uttar Pradesh, a female bank employee was allegedly beaten and misbehaved with by her colleagues during a party. She was thrown on the road and dragged. Her clothes were torn, and her gold chain was also snatched during the incident.
The incident happened on Wednesday during a get-together party organised by IDFC First Bank for its employees. Around 20–25 staff members attended the party, which was held near Merchants Chamber in Civil Lines.
According to the complaint, some employees had consumed alcohol at the party. During the event, a fight started between a few male employees. The argument quickly turned into a physical fight.
When the woman tried to stop the fight and calm them down, the situation became worse. The accused employees started abusing her and also attacked her. They allegedly hit her, pulled her hair, threw her onto the road, and dragged her. This caused her clothes to tear. During the incident, her gold chain was also snatched.
The woman, who lives in Keshavpuram and works at the bank’s Mall Road branch, said that the accused also threatened to kill her before running away.
Initially, she went to the Kotwali police station to file a complaint. However, since the incident took place under the area of Gwaltole police station, she later went there and submitted a written complaint against the accused employees.
Police said that two employees were heavily drunk and had also beaten another male colleague during the same incident.
Police said that a case has been registered based on the woman’s complaint. The victim has been sent for medical examination, and police teams are conducting raids to catch the accused.
Police also said that the allegation of robbery (gold chain snatching) has not been confirmed yet and is being investigated.
